THE SELECTION PROCESS           A Selection Committee comprised of program board members is charged with the responsibility of appointing 30 class participants each year. Candidates may apply directly or be nominated to apply by their employer, program graduates or others. Because the program seeks a diverse cross-section of participants and because the number of applicants exceeds the number of available positions, not all applicants can be selected the first time they apply. Those not selected are encouraged to reapply in subsequent years. The program seeks a class of recognized and emerging leaders who represent the various constituencies of the valley and who have demonstrated a commitment to community service.
